Figo engine jerks and whistles
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Ford Figo is experiencing engine jerking, whistling, and hissing sounds during acceleration, along with stalling at idle, increased fuel consumption, and reduced engine power. These symptoms suggest potential issues with the turbo system, specifically a bad boost pressure sensor or defective cable or plug connections. A similar case was resolved by addressing a faulty sensor connection, and it is recommended to have the vehicle professionally checked to confirm and fix the issue.

What else could it be? I checked the intake manifold and air intake, but couldn't find anything obvious. The symptoms seem to point towards the turbo system or turbo boost issues.

Yeah, the hissing especially points towards a turbo leak. I took mine to a shop, turned out to be a faulty sensor connection, just like you suspected. Saved me pulling the whole turbo apart. Worth getting it checked professionally, might save you some grief.

Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the sensor and connections. Your experience helps. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor and its plug connection. The repair cost 95€.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Figo. Whistling like a tea kettle and loss of power. You sure it's the boost pressure sensor? Could be other things causing those symptoms.
