Figo Overheating Speed Sensor

Hi, I have a 2011 Ford Figo with a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing overheating and the check engine light is on. Diagnostics point to a defective radiator fan, but I'm suspicious that the speed sensor might be the root cause. Has anyone seen this?

I had similar overheating issues with my Figo. Check the fan motor relay before you go too deep. Is the fan blade physically blocked, or are you hearing any unusual fan noise? It could also be a temperature control issue.

Thanks for the input. The fan blade spins freely, and I don't notice any unusual noise. Where is the fan motor relay located? I'll check the voltage with a multimeter. And how can I check the temperature control?

It's in the fuse box under the hood, should be labeled. Given that info and since you're suspecting the speed sensor, I would suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop. It could be an intermittent issue.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out the speed sensor was indeed the problem. Replaced it and all is good. Total repair cost was 250€.
