DPF cleaning products... do they actually work? Or am I just throwing money away before I have to replace the whole exhaust system?

Well, they might give you a temporary fix, but honestly, with those symptoms, especially the reduced power and smoke, it does sound like the DPF is seriously clogged. I'd say it's worth getting it checked properly by a mechanic. Could be regeneration isn't working, or it's just completely gone. I ended up needing a new one.

Right, cheers. Workshop it is. Turns out it was a defective DPF alright. Cost me 1550€ to replace.

Sounds familiar! I've got a Fiorino too, though a newer model. Had similar issues – reduced power and smoke. Have you tried any DPF cleaning products? Could be worth a shot before anything else.
