Fiorino Whistling Noise Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Fiat Fiorino experienced power loss, poor pedal response, a whistling noise during acceleration, stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. These symptoms suggested a potential issue with the turbocharger, specifically a boost pressure actuator fault or a defective bypass valve. A workshop confirmed the problem was with the electrical bypass valve, and replacing it resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Thanks! Boost pressure actuator... is that the same as the pressure sensor or actuator valve? And where is it located?

The boost pressure actuator controls the turbocharger's boost. It is typically located near the turbocharger. A defective electrical bypass valve can cause your described symptoms. Given the symptoms, further investigation by a qualified technician is advisable to confirm the diagnosis and proceed with the correct repair.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the electrical bypass valve. Replacing it cost me around 250€. Runs like new!

It sounds like a boost pressure actuator fault. The symptoms you're describing – reduced power, poor response, whistling/hissing sounds, stalling, and increased fuel consumption – are all consistent with this issue. The whistling could be air escaping due to a defective bypass valve. Has the car been scanned for fault codes? That would confirm if it's related to the boost pressure or the turbocharger.
