Fit Belt Handover Problem

I've noticed the belt handover isn't working as well on my 2020 Honda Fit Hybrid with 67579 kilometers. I suspect the belt bringer/handover itself. Anyone else seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Honda Fit Hybrid with 67,579 kilometers is experiencing issues with the belt handover, suspected to be related to the belt bringer/handover mechanism. A common symptom is a belt squeal, particularly when the engine is cold or under load, suggesting a potential belt tensioner issue. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the faulty belt tensioner, which was confirmed by a specialist and subsequently repaired.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I've got a Fit too, though not sure what year. Sounds like you've got the dreaded belt tensioner issue. Does it sound kinda like a belt squeal, especially when the engine's cold or under load? Check the belt drive itself maybe?

There is a 'belt squeal,' especially when the engine is cold or under load. What were your specifics? Did similar symptoms lead you to the belt tensioner, and were there any other signs?

Yeah, that's exactly what I had. The squeal got worse over time. I tried belt dressing, but it was just a temp fix. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the tensioner. Save yourself the headache and just get it checked. Trust me.

I consulted a specialist, and they confirmed a faulty belt tensioner. The repair, parts and labor, cost 455€. Thanks for the help with this.
