Fit hybrid error codes aux battery

Alright Fit freaks, I'm pulling my hair out! My 2020 Honda Fit hybrid is throwing some seriously funky codes. I've got nearly 190k km on the clock. The speedo's flashing an error, the error memory is chock-full, and she's struggling to crank, like the battery's proper weak. Plus, just feels like the electrics are wonky overall. Suspect the aux battery isn't charging, any ideas before I torch the thing?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Honda Fit hybrid with nearly 190k km is experiencing error codes, a flashing speedometer, and difficulty cranking, suggesting a weak auxiliary battery. The issues point towards a potential failure in the 12V auxiliary battery, which is crucial for startup and electronics in hybrids. Checking the battery voltage with a multimeter is recommended, and if the battery is faulty, replacement by a shop with hybrid experience is advised to avoid further complications.

Sounds like a classic dead aux battery scenario, especially with those symptoms. Hybrids are super sensitive to voltage fluctuations. First, have you checked the voltage of the 12V auxiliary battery with a multimeter? Should be around 12.6V fully charged. Also, is your IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system functioning normally? A failing IMA can sometimes put extra strain on the 12V system. And are there any specific error codes you're seeing?

Cheers for the reply! I haven't got a multimeter handy, unfortunately. The IMA seems okay, no warnings related to that. As for the specific error codes, I'd need to dig them out again. Is it definitely pointing towards the battery? How much of a pain is the battery replacement?

Okay, without checking the voltage it's tough to say definitively, but all signs point towards a dud aux battery. Hybrids rely heavily on a healthy 12V system for startup and running the electronics, even though the high-voltage system does most of the propulsion work. Battery replacement itself isn't rocket science, but given the hybrid system and error codes, I'd seriously recommend getting it diagnosed and replaced by a shop with hybrid experience. Could save you from chasing ghosts later on, and a potential bill. You're looking at about 290€ for the replacement, which is a standard price, to be honest.

Thanks a bunch! Took your advice and brought it into the local shop. You were spot-on – aux battery was toast! New battery, error codes cleared, and she's back to her perky self. Cost me exactly 290€. Appreciate the insight!
