Fit Hybrid Suspension Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Honda Fit hybrid (52k km). Recently, the car started leaning to one side, and now it won't lift at all. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, and the ride is super bumpy. The error memory also has something stored. Any ideas? Could it be an air leak?

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Honda Fit hybrid is experiencing a suspension issue where the car leans to one side and won't lift, accompanied by an error message and a bumpy ride. The problem is suspected to be a defective air suspension bellows valve, potentially caused by an air leak. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected by a professional, as diagnosing and repairing the air suspension system typically requires specialized tools and expertise. The issue was confirmed to be a defective suspension air bag valve, which was repaired at a cost.

I experienced similar symptoms with my 2018 Audi A6. The vehicle height was uneven and eventually, the car was undriveable because the suspension had totally failed. From what you're describing, especially with the error message and leaning, it sounds like your air suspension bellows valve may be defective. Have you checked for any hissing sounds near the suspension components? A leak there would confirm this.

Thanks for the quick response! I haven't specifically listened for hissing, but I will. Where exactly is the bellows valve located? Is it something I can easily inspect myself, or do I need to get the car up on a lift?

The bellows valve is usually integrated into the air suspension strut assembly, so you'll find it near the shock absorber, within the wheel well. While a visual inspection might reveal obvious damage, pinpointing a leak often requires specialized equipment to pressurize the system and detect pressure drops. Given that the vehicle can no longer lift, the error is stored and the ride is bumpy, I'd recommend taking it to a reputable workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair before you make things even worse. Replacing the air suspension bellows valve is not usually a DIY job, as it often requires specialist tools and recalibration of the suspension system.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I took it to the shop and you were right. The suspension air bag valve was defective. Cost me 590€ for the repair, but at least it's fixed now.
