FiveHundred Defrost Air Distribution Fault

Hey, got a head-scratcher with my 2006 Ford FiveHundred, gasoline engine. I'm getting an error stored in the memory related to the defrost air distribution flap and the heating output is just sad. I'm suspecting a bad cable or plug to the flap motor. Anyone seen this before?

Interesting issue. Sounds vaguely familiar. Could this be related to the HVAC unit? I had a similar problem with my old Opel Corsa, where the air distribution was completely off, but that was a different issue. How difficult is it to access the distribution flap in the FiveHundred?

Accessing it requires pulling part of the dashboard panel, so it's more than just a quick peek. You mention a similar problem with your Corsa's air distribution. Was yours also throwing an error code, or was it purely a functional issue?

Ah, dashboard removal, sounds like a proper job. In my case, there was no error code, only the function was impaired. I took it to a workshop. They said the climate control unit needed a reset or replacement. Perhaps it is time to consult with a professional too?

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took your advice and had it checked out. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection as I suspected. New cable harness fixed the issue. Cost me 95€, but at least I've got proper defrost again for the windshield fogging.
