FiveHundred Knocking Combustion

I'm experiencing knocking combustion in my 2006 Ford FiveHundred with a gasoline engine, only 37276 km on it. It's causing reduced engine power, jerking during acceleration, and smoke. I pulled an error code pointing to potential detonation and suspect deposits in the combustion chamber. Anyone else faced something similar? Ignition timing and knock sensor readings seem normal.

I had a similar issue with my FiveHundred some time ago. Same symptoms: knocking, jerking, and the error code. Did you check the readings when the engine is under load?

Thanks for the quick response. I checked the readings at idle and during a brief free rev, but not specifically under load. How did you resolve this?

I wasn't able to resolve this myself. I had the vehicle inspected at a workshop. In my case, there was significant carbon buildup in the combustion chamber, leading to pre-ignition.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems a trip to the workshop is inevitable. I'll have them check for carbon buildup and address the deposits. They quoted 425€ as potential repair costs.
