FiveHundred power windows
Summary of the thread
After replacing the battery in a 2004 Ford FiveHundred, the power windows became unresponsive, and an error was detected in the system. This issue may require a specific re-initialization procedure for the window control module, which is not resolved by simply disconnecting the battery again. A suggested solution is to take the vehicle to a workshop where they have the necessary diagnostic tools to address the problem efficiently.

Thanks for the quick reply! Reset the window control module? Is there a specific procedure involved, or is it disconnecting the battery again and hoping for the best? I'm trying to avoid a costly trip to the mechanic.

It's not just disconnecting the battery again. From what I recall, there's some kind of initialization procedure needed after the power is interrupted. After messing with it for an afternoon, I just took it to the shop. They had the right diagnostic tools to get it sorted quickly.

Sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable then. Just got a quote for 290€, seems reasonable enough to avoid further headaches.

Power window problems after a battery change, huh? I've got a FiveHundred as well, and experienced something similar. Have you checked all the window switches? Did you try to reset the window control module?
