FiveHundred rough idle fuel pressure sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford FiveHundred was experiencing rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. These symptoms suggested a potential issue with the fuel delivery system, specifically the fuel pressure sensor. After inspecting the sensor and its connections, it was determined that the sensor was defective. Replacing the faulty fuel pressure sensor resolved the problem, and the car's performance improved significantly.

Where exactly is that sensor located? And what should I be looking for when I check the cable and plug?

The fuel pressure sensor is typically located on the fuel rail. Inspect the cable and plug for any signs of damage or corrosion. Given your description, it's advisable to have a workshop professionally diagnose it.

It turned out to be a defective fuel pressure sensor, just like you suspected. The cable seemed okay, but the sensor itself was faulty. Replaced it, and the car runs like new! The repair cost me 95€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Ford Taurus. The symptoms you describe point to a potential fuel pressure sensor problem. Check the cable and plug connection to the sensor first.
