FiveHundred windshield wipers not working

I've got a perplexing issue with my 2004 Ford FiveHundred with a gasoline engine. The windshield wipers have stopped working. Diagnostics showed an error. Could a defective cable or plug connection be the problem, or are there other failure points to consider before repairs?

I had a similar issue with my FiveHundred. The wipers just stopped. Did you check the turn signal and steering column? It sounds weird, but could the rain sensor be faulty? I'm not sure about error codes, though.

Thanks for the insights. Regarding the turn signal and steering column, are there specific components or connections that affect the wiper functionality? Also, how would I determine if the rain sensor is the source, considering the error code is ambiguous?

Well, I'm not super familiar with the inner workings of the steering column, but it’s worth checking the connections. Honestly, if you're getting an error code and the wipers are completely dead, it might be best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and give you a real answer. Saved me a lot of time and headache.

I appreciate that suggestion. A visit to a qualified workshop appears to be the best course of action. The repair cost was 95€.
