FJ Cruiser Cold Start Rough Idle

My 2016 FJ Cruiser (gas engine) is giving me fits on cold starts lately. It cranks fine but runs super rough for the first minute or so, almost like it's not getting enough fuel. Then it smooths out and runs perfectly fine. Any ideas? I'm leaning towards a fuel issue, maybe the cold start injector? Mileage is about 172186 km. Seems like a fuel delivery issue...

Rough idle on cold start... sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Volvo, though it was a different beast altogether. Did you check your fuel rail pressure? Or maybe tried some injector cleaner? Just throwing out some thoughts.

Fuel rail pressure, huh? I hadn't thought about that specifically. Where exactly did you see the problem with your Volvo – was it pressure readings at the fuel rail itself, or something else pointing you that way?

Yeah, turned out the Volvo had a faulty injector. Caused all sorts of grief until I replaced it. Best bet is to get it properly diagnosed, could be worth visiting a workshop...

Appreciate the input! Took it to my mechanic, and you called it – faulty cold start injector. Quoted me 515€ parts and labor. Ouch, but at least I know what it is. Thanks again for the help!
