FJCruiser Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2022 Toyota FJCruiser stopped working at 49,915 km, with an error stored in the memory. Initial checks ruled out a blown fuse, leading to speculation about a defective speed sensor. However, a suggestion to check the brake light switch was made, as it can also disable cruise control. Ultimately, the issue was traced to a defective cable connection in the cruise control component, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Interesting point about the brake lights. I'll check them. But if it was just a brake light, wouldn't I expect other symptoms? I mean, is there any other sensor that could also be the culprit?

Yeah, when mine went, I was surprised too, just cruise control dead. I'd get it checked at a workshop. Turned out to be a defective plug connection of the cruise control component, which caused the error. If you don't have the tools to perform advanced diagnosis, getting it checked professionally seems wise.

Thanks for the tip! I got it checked out as you suggested. Turns out you were right: it was indeed a defective cable connection. The repair cost was 95€. Everything is working fine now.

I had a similar issue with my FJCruiser. Did you check your brake lights? Sometimes a faulty brake light switch can disable the cruise control. Is the 'Cruise' indicator lighting up on the dashboard at all?
