FJCruiser fuel consumption issue

Anyone else had fuel issues with their 2008 Toyota FJCruiser (gasoline engine)? Mileage is at 119k km. I'm seeing higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the engine sometimes stalls when idling. Plus, a bit of smoke when accelerating. Suspect it's injection system related, maybe a bad cable or plug connection?

Hey, I had something similar happen on my FJCruiser, though mine's a bit older. Was it doing all those things at once? For me, the stalling was the worst. I was constantly worried about getting stranded! Did you check for any obvious fuel leaks?

Interesting, thanks for the reply. No visible fuel leaks that I could find. When yours was stalling, did you also experience reduced power and rough acceleration? Was it definitely the injection system?

Yep, power loss and rough acceleration were definitely part of it. It was the injection system alright! Turned out to be a dodgy connection. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop to be properly diagnosed. Saved me a lot of hassle. They charged me around 95€ to fix it.

Appreciate the insight. Sounds like I'm on the right track then. I'll get it checked out by a professional. Turns out a defective cable or plug connection was causing the issue. Repair cost was exactly 95€, like you said!
