FJCruiser low tire pressure ABS light

I've got a 2018 Toyota FJCruiser with a gasoline engine, and I'm pulling my hair out over a low tire pressure warning. The ABS light is on, the steering wheel vibrates like crazy, and it feels like I'm wrestling a bear to steer sometimes. I checked the pressure with my gauge and it seems fine. Could this be a sensor issue even if the tires seem properly inflated?

Sounds familiar. I've got an FJCruiser too. Had almost the same thing happen last year. If your tire pressure is truly okay, my bet's on a faulty valve in one of your tires. It's like a tiny leak that the system is picking up on but your tire gauge might not be sensitive enough to catch. Do you remember hitting any potholes recently? That can damage those valves.

Interesting. So, even if the pressure seems normal when I check it manually, a valve could still be the culprit? And yes, I did hit a pothole recently, but I didn't think much of it. How did you figure out it was the valve? Did you replace the sensor, or just the valve?

Yep, even with seemingly normal pressure. Think of it like a dripping faucet – small enough to ignore initially, but eventually the tank empties. I took it to a shop to get it diagnosed because honestly, dealing with tire sensors felt like opening Pandora’s Box. They confirmed the valve was defective and causing a slow leak and pressure loss. Best to get it properly checked, could save you a bigger headache down the road.

Thanks for the insight. I'll get the valve checked out at a workshop. Just got the bill: 280€, defective valve was indeed the issue! Appreciate the help!
