Thanks. When you mention the relay and fuse, where should I look in the electrical system? When you had this, did the temperature gauge jump around, or was the overheating gradual?

The fuse and relay locations are usually printed on the fuse box cover, but I'd have to double-check. It does sound like a fan motor issue. I took mine to a workshop, and they found a faulty connection pretty quickly. That was the easiest solution for me.

Thanks, I'll probably see a mechanic. It's good to know a simple connection could be it. It was indeed a defective plug connection after a quick checkup, costing 95€ to repair. Thanks again!

I had a similar overheating issue with my FJCruiser. Is the electric fan not kicking on at all, or does it seem weak? I'd start by checking the fan motor itself. Also check the relay and fuse for the fan motor before chasing wires. Have you looked at those?
