FJCruiser TPMS Sensor Fault

Hi, I'm having a TPMS issue with my 2009 Toyota FJCruiser (gasoline engine). The tire pressure warning light is on, and the speedometer displays a 'Tire Pressure Too Low' error. I've checked the pressures manually, and they're all fine. Hooked it up to an OBD2 scanner, and it shows an error related to a faulty tire pressure sensor. Mileage is only 35857 km, so it seems a bit early for this. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Saab a few years back. Same symptoms - warning light, error message, but the tire pressures were all correct. Did the error code point to a specific wheel?

Good question. Yes, the OBD2 readout indicates the front right sensor. Is that what you experienced with your Saab? Was it a pain to fix?

Yep, mine was also a specific sensor. Unfortunately, in my case, it definitely meant a trip to the workshop. They confirmed it was a dead sensor battery and replaced the whole unit. Best to get it checked out by a professional, they will figure it out quickly.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the shop then. Just got a quote for 280€ including diagnostics and replacing the sensor - ouch! But better safe than sorry. Appreciate the help.
