Flex sunroof initialization error

Alright Ford Flex gurus, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2013 Flex with the gasoline engine is throwing a 'sunroof not initialized' error and it's driving me nuts. Mileage is pushing 200k km. The sunblind is stuck, the whole sunroof is completely unresponsive, it wont open or close. And the blind just refuses to retract. Could it be related to some coding that was done?

I had a similar problem with my Flex. By coding, do you mean someone used a diagnostic tool to change some of the car's settings? What exactly was coded, if you know?

Yeah, exactly that! I had someone tweak a few things with a diagnostic tool. Honestly, I don't remember everything that was changed. Is that what messed up your sunroof too?

Yes, that's exactly what it was. If I may, I would suggest that you visit a workshop with the appropriate diagnostic equipment, and have the settings reviewed. It appears as if your Flex might need to be reinitialized to factory settings.

Thanks so much for the help! I took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out, the sunroof needed to be recalibrated after the coding mishap. Cost me 75€, but at least it's working now!
