Flex tailgate hall sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Flex is experiencing a power tailgate issue, with a fault code indicating a hall sensor problem. The tailgate isn't opening completely, and the issue is persistent. A potential cause could be a faulty connection, particularly in the cable and plug connection to the hall sensor, which is a common problem area. Checking the harness for pinched or broken wires is suggested, and if unresolved, professional diagnosis and repair may be necessary.

Yeah, it's pretty constant now. Thanks for the tip about the harness. Are you referring to the cable and plug connection going into the hall sensor specifically? Was that what your issue turned out to be?

Yes, the cable and plug connection going to the hall sensor. I couldn't fix it myself. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly as a defective connection. Saved me a lot of headache trying to trace it myself.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I'll be checking the connections thoroughly, but probably heading to the shop soon. Diagnosis plus repair isn't too bad, they quoted around 95€, so at least it won't break the bank.

Hall sensor on the tailgate, huh? I had something similar happen on my Flex. It was a pain. Is it intermittent, or is it a constant issue? Have you checked the harness where it enters the tailgate? That's a common spot for wires to get pinched or broken.
