Flickering LED Headlights and Persistent Code Clearing Issue in BMW 1

I recently replaced my headlight bulbs with LED ones in my BMW 1 and I've been experiencing flickering. Is there a way to code this issue out? Additionally, I've been trying to clear codes but the system seems to be stuck on 'issues are being cleared' screen for an extended period. Is this a normal occurrence or should I be concerned?

Summary of the thread

The main issue involves flickering LED headlights in a BMW 1, likely due to a compatibility problem with the car's electrical system. A possible solution is installing a decoder or anti-flicker adapter. Additionally, there is a persistent problem with clearing codes, as the system remains stuck on the 'issues are being cleared' screen. This could be due to a software glitch or a diagnostic tool issue, and it is suggested to restart the car, ensure a stable connection, and try again, or consult a professional if the issue continues.

The flickering of your LED headlights might be due to a compatibility issue with your car's electrical system. You may need to install a decoder or an anti-flicker adapter to solve this problem. As for the system being stuck on 'issues are being cleared', it's not a normal occurrence. It could be a software glitch or a problem with the diagnostic tool. Try restarting your car and clearing the codes again. If the problem persists, you might need to consult with a professional mechanic. Please update us on your progress and let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the information, I have read that you can take off the headlight vehicle checks via the frm? I have tried several times on the scanner as it’s 2 days old, I have 8 faults logged yet everytime I click delete it was over 15 mins and still showing. Does the app need signal to be able to delate? Wouod it be best to connect via WiFi and not mobile data?

Yes, you can disable the headlight checks via the FRM module, but be aware that this should be done by someone who is familiar with coding, as incorrect changes can cause other issues. Regarding the scanner, a stable connection (either WiFi or mobile data) is necessary for it to function properly. If you're still having trouble, it might be a good idea to try connecting via WiFi. If the problem persists, the scanner itself might be faulty. Please keep us updated on your progress.
