Fluence Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Renault Fluence is experiencing an "Active hood fault" message and an airbag warning light, with the hood slightly raised due to triggered spring actuators. The issue is suspected to be related to a defective acceleration sensor, as suggested by a local shop. The recommended solution is to have the car professionally checked and repaired to address the sensor issue and ensure safety.

Thanks for the quick reply! By 'triggered' I mean the hood is slightly raised at the back, like it's popped up a bit. I can push it back down, but it doesn't lock and the error message stays. Did your hood actually pop up too?

Okay, now that you mention it, yeah, the hood popping up is exactly what happened to me! It was super annoying. Honestly, after fiddling with it for a bit, I gave up and took it to a workshop. Sounds like your shop's diagnosis of a sensor issue is probably spot on. I'd get it checked out professionally; messing with airbags and hood actuators yourself is a recipe for disaster.

Thanks a bunch for confirming! I was on the fence about the diagnosis, but your experience makes me feel better about it. I'll book it in with the shop and hopefully, that'll be the end of it. Really appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got a Fluence too, though I can't remember the exact year. I had a similar warning light situation and the active hood message. What do you mean when you say the spring actuators have been triggered?
