Fluence check engine light air intake issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Renault Fluence with a gasoline engine has a check engine light on, and the engine stalls, suspected to be due to an air intake issue. Possible causes include defective vacuum hoses or problems with the throttle body. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by identifying a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. The recommended solution is to have a workshop diagnose the problem, potentially using a smoke machine, to identify and repair any defective hoses.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks! I'm not sure how to check the small hoses by the throttle body and air valve. Any specific area I should focus on? How did you find out the hose was defective?

A mechanic looked at it. It was a small vacuum hose near the air valve. Honestly, it's best to go to a workshop. They should diagnose it quickly using a smoke machine.

The workshop confirmed it was a defective hose connecting the pump to the air valve, like you said. Repair cost 175€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I'll consult the experts earlier next time.

I had a similar issue with my 2013 Opel Astra, also gasoline. Check engine light, and it was a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. Have you checked the small hoses around the throttle body and air valve? A tiny crack can cause big problems.
