Fluence cold start injector issue

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2011 Renault Fluence (gasoline engine). It's got about 47,239 km on it. Lately, it's been starting really poorly when it's cold. The engine runs rough for a few minutes until it warms up. I'm thinking it might be a fuel delivery issue, maybe something with the injectors? Any ideas on where to start looking?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Renault Fluence with 47,239 km is experiencing poor cold starts and rough engine performance until warmed up, suspected to be a fuel delivery issue, possibly with the injectors. The problem could be due to a partially blocked or leaky injector, which affects the richer fuel mixture needed during cold starts. It is suggested to use a fuel injector cleaner or have the injectors tested by a workshop. The issue was confirmed to be a faulty cold start injector, and after repair, the car is running perfectly.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like cold start problems. Could be a few things, but injectors are a good place to start. When was the last time you had the fuel filter changed? Also, have you tried any fuel injector cleaner?

The fuel filter was changed about 10,000 km ago. I haven't tried any injector cleaner yet. Would a bad injector always cause problems, or just during cold starts? Is there a good way to test them?

A completely dead injector would cause problems all the time, but a partially blocked or leaky one can definitely cause cold start issues. The engine needs a richer mixture when cold, and a faulty injector won't deliver the fuel properly. Testing them properly requires specialist equipment. You could try the cleaner, but honestly, with those symptoms, I'd get it checked out by a workshop. They can test the fuel rail pressure and the injectors themselves.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty cold start injector. The repair cost me 515€, but the car is running perfectly now.
