Fluence cylinder 3 misfire

I'm having issues with my 2014 Renault Fluence gasoline engine, about 52915 km on it. The engine runs rough, especially at idle. The check engine light is on, and the car jerks during acceleration. Engine power feels reduced. I suspect cylinder misfire. Has anyone experienced something similar with their Fluence? Could it be the fuel pump or ignition coil? I've checked the spark plugs, and they seem fine.

I understand that you are experiencing combustion misfires. Have you checked the error codes using an OBD2 scanner? Knowing the specific cylinder affected by the misfire could help narrow down the possibilities. You could also check the fuel injectors.

Yes, I used an OBD2 scanner, and it indicated misfires on cylinder 3. How can I determine if the fuel injector on that cylinder is faulty?

With a P0303 error code, it is quite probable you are looking at a defective injector. You can try switching the injector from cylinder 3 with another cylinder and see if the misfire moves. However, I would suggest taking your car to a workshop. They have better diagnostic tools to properly asses the situation.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to a local shop, and they confirmed it was a defective fuel injector on cylinder 3, as you suspected. The repair cost me 515€. The car runs smoothly now!
