Thanks for the reply! The error message does specifically mention the fuel filter heater. I've had a quick look at the wiring, but couldn't spot anything obvious. Where exactly should I be checking for this cable and plug connection? Is it easy to access?

Okay, heater specific error makes it more likely to be that. Honestly, if you can't see anything obvious, and you're getting those symptoms, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Could save you money in the long run.

Thanks, I think you're right. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out to be a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater, just like you suggested. They replaced the connector, and it's running perfectly again. Total cost was 95€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the advice!

Hey! Sounds frustrating. Is the error message specific about the heater, or just a general fuel filter error? Could be a faulty sensor too, but the heater is a common culprit on diesels in colder weather. Have you checked the cable and plug connection?
