Fluence engine running rough
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Fluence with a gasoline engine is experiencing rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a check engine light. The issue may be due to faulty ignition coils, as similar symptoms were resolved by replacing them in another case. Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the ignition coils themselves, just the connections. How did you figure out it was the coils? Was it hard to diagnose?

Yeah, it was the ignition coil on mine. The diagnostics pointed to a cylinder misfire, which is a common symptom. I ended up taking it to a workshop, they ran some tests and confirmed it pretty quickly. It might be worth getting yours checked professionally.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the ignition coils. Hopefully, it's something simple like that and not a bigger problem. The repair bill was 95€ in the end.

FLUENCE

Sounds familiar! I've got a Fluence too, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Have you checked your ignition coils? Rough running, stalling, and jerking can all be signs of a bad coil. Does the engine run smoothly at higher RPMs, or is the issue consistent?
