Fluence engine stalling

My 2016 Renault Fluence diesel has a check engine light and sometimes stalls when idling. I've read it could be the tank ventilation valve. Could it be a bad gas cap, or a bigger EVAP system problem? Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my Fluence. Is the smell of gasoline stronger than usual, especially after filling up? If so, it could be the purge valve or the fuel tank hoses. Do you hear any hissing sounds from the fuel tank area?

No hissing, but you're right, I did notice a stronger gasoline smell recently. So, you think it's likely the hoses or the valve itself? Could I check it myself, or should I take it to a mechanic?

Given the smell and stalling, it's highly probable. You could inspect the hoses for cracks or clogs, but diagnosing EVAP system issues can be tricky without equipment. A workshop visit may be best to prevent further complications.

Thanks so much for the advice! The shop found clogged hoses and a faulty ventilation valve. The repair cost 175€, but it's running smoothly now. Really appreciate the help!
