Thanks for the tip! I haven't actually taken the door apart yet to check the connections. Where exactly should I be looking? Is it likely to be the connector right at the handle itself, or further down the line?

On my Insignia, it was the connector right behind the door handle itself. Tricky to get to, mind you. Honestly, unless you're comfortable with automotive electrics, might be worth getting a garage to take a look. Could save you a lot of hassle and potential for making things worse.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to the shop and you were right! It was indeed a defective cable/plug connection right at the door handle. They fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a pain. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Insignia. Keyless entry packed in, and it turned out to be a dodgy connection in the door. Have you tried checking the cables and plugs going to the door handle? Could be a loose connection or a corroded pin. Sometimes those things are hard to spot. Does the error message give you any more clues?
