Fluence Overvoltage Faults

I'm having trouble with my 2016 Renault Fluence diesel. It's showing overvoltage and has logged many fault memory entries. This has led to system failures and a weak battery when starting. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery really be the only cause?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Fluence. High voltage and random system failures, right? Did you check the battery?

Yes, that is correct. I did check the battery, but it seemed fine at first glance. What exactly was the issue with yours? Did you also experience the weak battery?

Yep, weak battery too. Turned out to be a faulty battery causing all sorts of chaos. It's worth getting it properly tested. Might be worth taking it to a workshop to be sure.

Thank you for the advice! I took your suggestion and had the battery professionally tested. As suspected, it was defective. Replacing it solved the overvoltage issues and the car is running smoothly again. The repair cost 290€, so thanks for the help!
