Fluence stalling at idle

Alright Renault heads, I'm hitting a wall. Got a 2016 Renault Fluence, gasoline engine, with 222340 km on the clock. The check engine light's been mocking me, and the error memory's throwing a 'bad idle air control valve' code. But here's the kicker: the engine stalls at idle! Could it be the dreaded IAC valve? I'm thinking the intake might be seriously gunked up. Anyone else wrestle with this demon?

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Fluence. Stalling at idle sounds familiar. Did you notice any rough idling before it completely stalled? Was the check engine light consistently on, or did it flicker? Just trying to narrow it down.

Rough idling? Absolutely! It was like the engine was hiccuping before giving up the ghost. And yeah, the check engine light was pretty consistent, like a constant reminder of my misery. You think it was definitely the IAC valve in your case?

Yep, those were the exact same symptoms I experienced. Given your mileage and the codes you're pulling, it's very likely the IAC valve or a seriously dirty throttle body. My suggestion would be to visit a workshop. In my case, the repair cost was around 425€. They will run further diagnostics to confirm.

Thanks a bunch for confirming! Sounds like I'm heading down the same path. I appreciate you sharing your experience; a workshop visit it is! Hopefully, I can get this sorted soon!
