Thanks. Were your symptoms constant or did they come and go? And what exactly was the 'steering column alignment' problem? Trying to figure out what to look for before I dig in.

The symptoms were intermittent at first, then more consistent after a couple of weeks. The workshop said misalignment can mess with the sensor's readings, making it send bad data. Get a proper diagnosis from a good workshop.

Took it to a certified shop as you suggested. They confirmed the steering angle sensor was faulty due to coding. Replaced and reprogrammed it. Cost 195€. Thanks for the help!

Similar thing happened with my 2018 Opel Insignia. Steering got heavy and vibrated. The garage thought it could be steering column alignment, or the sensor itself. Was the steering recalibrated or the sensor checked?
