Focus AC compressor error
Summary of the thread
The A/C system in a 2000 Ford Focus with a gasoline engine isn't working, and an error related to the A/C compressor was found. Possible causes include issues with the pressure switch, A/C relay, or undervoltage affecting the compressor. A suggested solution is to check for undervoltage, which could be due to faulty wiring, and have it repaired if necessary.

Undervoltage, huh? I hadn't really thought of that. No other obvious electrical issues, but I'll check the battery and alternator. Where should I be looking for undervoltage specifically related to the A/C system? Is there a common point of failure I should test?

Yeah, it might be a bit tricky to pinpoint. Mine turned out to be a weird interaction with the relay switch. Honestly, after chasing it for a while, I just took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as undervoltage causing the A/C compressor to shut off and fixed some wiring. Saved me a lot of headache.

Thanks for the tip! I checked for undervoltage and found a bad wire. Got it fixed at the workshop for 240€. Apparently, the undervoltage was making the A/C compressor shut off. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Focus. The A/C would just randomly cut out. Have you checked for undervoltage? If the voltage is low, the compressor might not be getting enough power to kick on. Any other electrical weirdness going on in the car?
