Focus audio system dead
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Ford Focus is experiencing a complete audio system failure, where the display functions but no sound is emitted from the speakers. The issue might be due to a blown speaker, particularly the bass speaker. A similar problem was resolved by visiting a workshop, where a defective bass speaker was identified and repaired.

No distortion or anything like that, it just cut out. Like someone flipped a switch. All connections seem fine, radio, usb. Does your system have a separate amp? Maybe that's the problem?

Mine doesn't have any additional amplifiers, and based on your description, it seems more like an internal issue than an external one. After fiddling around a bit and not finding much, I took it to my local workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. Maybe it’s worth doing the same.

Thanks for the advice! Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. They found a defective bass speaker. Repair ran about 280€, which I think is fair.

Hey, that sounds familiar. I have a similar Focus, though I'm not sure about the year. A while back, the audio went completely silent on me too. Did you notice any distortion or crackling before it died completely? It could be a sign of a speaker failing, like a fuse box tripping, but in my case it wasn’t.
