Focus cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2006 Ford Focus diesel stopped working, displaying an error message and an OBD error code. The issue was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. After checking the fuses and considering the possibility of a faulty actuator, it was advised to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop. The problem was confirmed to be a defective connection, which was repaired for a fee.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the fuses, but they all seem to be fine. Where is the actuator located? Could it be something to do with the steering wheel controls maybe?

On my Astra, the actuator was near the steering wheel column, but I'm not sure about the Focus. It might be different. Honestly, at this point, it might be best to get it checked at a workshop. Could save you a lot of hassle.

You're probably right. Took it to the workshop, and it turned out to be a defective connection, just like I suspected. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Thanks for your help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. Cruise control just died. Did you check the fuse box? Sometimes it's just a blown fuse. Also, maybe a faulty actuator?
