Focus Electric Headlight Range Problem

Alright, gearheads, I'm tearing my hair out! I've got a 2015 Ford Focus Electric, and the headlight range control is borked. I'm seeing an error in the memory and a warning light on the dash. The worst part is the low beams are either aimed at the sky or practically at the bumper. I've checked the electrical connectors, and they seem fine. Any ideas before I lose it completely?

I understand you're experiencing issues with the headlight range control on your 2015 Ford Focus Electric. Considering the error message, warning light, and the incorrect beam adjustment, it's likely a fault within the system. Have you inspected the servomotor in the headlight assembly? Also, can you confirm if the auto-leveling feature is functioning at all?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I was suspecting the servomotor too. I haven't torn it apart that much yet. But about the auto-leveling, how would I even check that definitively? Is there a specific test or something I can run?

Given the symptoms and your expertise, a defective servomotor is a highly probable cause. As for the auto-leveling test, observing the headlight movement upon vehicle startup is a rudimentary check, but it's not always conclusive. I'd recommend a diagnostic scan at a reputable workshop to pinpoint the fault and assess the control module's functionality. That way, you will be on the safe side.

Okay, thanks for confirming my suspicions and pointing me in the right direction. I took it to the shop, and you nailed it – faulty servomotor. Total cost was 1040€ for the repair. Appreciate the help!
