Focus Electric immobilizer issue

Hey, I'm having a major headache with my 2017 Ford Focus Electric. It's got about 56k kilometers on it. Basically, the car won't start! Sometimes it'll fire up for a second and then die immediately. The error memory is showing something about the immobilizer. Could it be a key issue, like it's not sending the right signal? It feels like the anti-theft system is going crazy on me!

I had something similar happen with my Focus. Does the security light flash rapidly when you try to start it? It could be a problem with the key's programming, like the car isn't recognizing it properly. Have you tried your spare key? It's like the car is saying 'wrong key' even when it isn't.

Yeah, the security light is definitely going nuts! I tried the spare key, and it's doing the exact same thing. So, you think it's a key programming issue for sure? Did you manage to fix yours?

Given that the spare key isn't working either, it's highly likely a programming problem and not just a dead key battery. To be sure, a workshop visit is unavoidable. They have the equipment to properly diagnose and reprogram your keys to the car's anti-theft system. It's like taking your computer to a specialist when you can't fix it yourself.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The key programming was messed up. They reprogrammed it, and now it's running perfectly. Cost me 45€ Really appreciate the help!
