Focus Electric power loss ECU fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Focus Electric experienced a significant reduction in engine power, with a diagnostic scan revealing fault code P0606, indicating a potential ECU issue. The problem was suspected to be linked to prior chip tuning. The suggested solution was to have the vehicle checked by a professional workshop, where it was confirmed that the chip tuning had damaged the ECU, requiring repair.

I'm pulling code P0606, which seems to point towards the car computer. Did you have the same code? What exactly was the issue in your case?

Yep, P0606 was the one. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. It's probably beyond a DIY fix, especially if it involves the ECU.

Alright, I appreciate the advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the chip tuning fried something in the ECU. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Focus, not the electric one but the regular engine model. Same symptoms: power loss and error codes popping up. What codes are you seeing?
