Focus fuel flap release failure

Hi, I have a 2003 Ford Focus with a gasoline engine. The fuel flap release isn't working and I get an error message, so I can't open the fuel door. It seems like some other features are acting up too. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hey! I've had a similar problem with my Focus. Is it completely stuck, or does it sometimes work? When mine started acting up, I also noticed that some other electrical things were a bit wonky. Have you checked the fuse box? It might be a simple fix, but knowing Ford, probably not, right?

Thanks for the reply! It's completely stuck. Where is the fuse for the fuel flap, do you know? And which other electrical issues did you notice? Maybe that can give me a clue.

Okay, if it's completely stuck, it's probably the actuator itself. I never found the specific fuse for the flap, honestly. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, because I didn't want to risk damaging anything. They replaced the actuator, and everything's been fine since. Best to get it checked out by a professional, what do you think?

Thanks for the advice! I'll take it to a workshop and have them check the actuator. I appreciate you sharing your experience!
