Focus Headlight Cleaning System Fault

Turns out it was a faulty relay that controlled both the windshield and headlight washers. Have you tried listening for the pump when you activate the washer? Can you hear it trying to work?

On the Astra, the relay was in the fuse box under the hood. But given your mileage, a leak is also possible if you smell washer fluid. Honestly, at this point, it may be best to take it to a reliable workshop to get the system pressure tested and professionally checked out. Saves a lot of poking around and potential further damage!
