Focus Intake Manifold Flap Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Ford Focus diesel with 148152 km is experiencing reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, increased fuel consumption, and a loud hissing sound at higher speeds. These symptoms, along with an illuminated engine light, suggest a potential issue with the intake manifold flap control. The problem was confirmed by a mechanic, and the defective switch was repaired.

Yes, the engine light is on. The hissing is more noticeable when the engine is warm, especially under acceleration. Could this still be the intake manifold flap control?

Yep, warm engine and engine light points to the intake manifold flap control. You might want to get it checked out by a workshop. I had to, and it was definitely that.

Thanks for the info! I'll book it in with a mechanic and mention the intake manifold flap control. Turns out the switch was defective. Repair cost me 465€.

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Focus. Did the engine light come on? I'm no expert but is the hissing happening when the engine is cold or warm?
