Focus Key Fob Battery

I've got a 2017 Ford Focus diesel. The car says 'key battery low'. Keyless access doesn't work, there's an error message, and the locking is unreliable. Could it just be the key fob battery?

Ah, the dreaded low key fob battery! It's like a digital gremlin sneaking into your system. Sounds like that could be it. Have you tried your spare key? If that works, you've nailed it. If the spare key has the same issues, something else is up. How old is the battery in your key fob?

Thanks! The spare key works fine. I can't remember when I last changed the battery - is there any way to check?

Bingo! That confirms the battery in your primary key fob is the issue. There is unfortunately no build date on the original battery. Replacing it is straightforward but fiddly. Considering your Focus is still relatively new and you're experiencing electronic gremlins, I'd suggest a visit to the service center. They can replace the battery and clear that error code for around 37€. Think of it as preventative medicine for your digital steed.

Thanks for the help! The service center confirmed the key fob battery was dead. They replaced it and cleared the error code for 37€. Keyless access and locking are working now. Your advice helped a lot.
