Focus Oil Level Sensor Error

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I did check the oil level with the dipstick, and it seems fine. I also tried to wiggle the connector, but nothing obvious happened. Where exactly is the oil level sensor located on the engine? Maybe I wasn't wiggling the right thing. Is it easy to get to?

Okay, if the dipstick reads fine and wiggling the connector didn't do anything, it's probably not just a simple fix. The oil level sensor is usually located on the bottom of the oil pan. Reaching it can be tricky depending on your car's setup. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable working on cars, this might be one to take to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the sensor and wiring with the right tools. It could save you a headache in the long run. It sounds like you checked the basic stuff, so something more sophisticated might be required.

Thanks so much for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed a defective cable/plug connection to the oil level sensor. They charged me 95€ to fix it. Appreciate the help!

Wow, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my Focus. Those symptoms are a real pain, especially the oil pressure light flashing. Did you check the simple stuff first, like making sure the oil level is actually correct on the dipstick? It might sound dumb, but sometimes the sensor throws a false positive. Also, have you tried wiggling the connector on the oil level sensor to see if the light flickers or changes? It could be a loose connection like you suspected.
