Summary of the thread
A 2017 Ford Focus diesel experienced a check engine light and rough engine performance at 74,027 km, with diagnostics indicating a potential issue with the water sensor's cable or plug connection. The problem was identified as an electrical fault in the water sensor cable. The suggested solution was to replace the faulty cable, which resolved the issue.

Car diagnostics are already checked, and the error clearly points to the water sensor. However, I'm unsure if it's really the sensor itself or just the wiring. What exactly was the problem in your case?

Ah, okay. If the car diagnostics show the sensor and not the wiring, then changing the sensor might fix your problem. To be honest I don't know what it was exactly, but the workshop replaced a sensor, and it's been running fine since then. I would suggest going to the workshop!

Thank you for your advice. It was indeed the water sensor cable, causing an electrical fault. The repair cost was 95€. Appreciate your help!

Sounds familiar! I had something like that with my Focus, though I can't remember the exact mileage. It was also a sensor issue that made the car undriveable. Did you already check the car diagnostics?
