Ford BMAX Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Failure

I own a 2014 Ford BMAX with a gasoline engine. Recently, an error message appeared in the speedometer, and the braking effect has noticeably diminished. Diagnostic tools indicate a brake booster pressure sensor failure, and an error is stored in the error memory. The vehicle has 33028 km on the odometer. Could this be related to incorrectly bled brakes?

That does sound concerning. Have you recently had any work done on the braking system, like new pads or a fluid change? Incorrect bleeding can definitely cause issues with the brake booster, leading to sensor errors and reduced braking performance. Is the brake pedal feeling spongy at all?

No recent work has been done. The brake pedal feels stiffer than usual. Could this indicate the pressure sensor is faulty and requires replacement?

A stiff pedal coupled with the error codes and symptoms does strongly suggest a faulty pressure sensor impacting the brake booster function. While it's possible to replace the sensor yourself, given the importance of the braking system, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. Vehicle safety is important.

Thank you for the advice. I visited a local workshop, and they confirmed the pressure sensor failure. Replacement and system check cost 90€. The issue is now resolved.
