Ford Edge Fault Memory Lock Active
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Ford Edge displayed a 'Fault memory lock active' message, with an error stored in the ECU diagnostics. The issue was potentially linked to undervoltage, as suggested by a scanner. A similar case was resolved by checking the battery and alternator, and resetting the control unit, which was confirmed to be a glitch caused by a voltage dip.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't noticed any battery issues specifically. How long ago did you experience this, and did it cause any driveability problems beyond the error code?

It was maybe six months ago, give or take. And no, the car drove perfectly fine, which made it even more confusing! But the error kept popping up. Eventually, I took it to a workshop. They said the undervoltage had messed with the control unit and they reset something. I'd suggest getting it properly diagnosed; could save you a headache.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to a workshop as suggested, and it turned out to be a glitch caused by a voltage dip. They reset the control unit and charged me 240€.

Hey, I've got an Edge too, and I saw something similar a while back. Was your battery acting up at all before this happened? Low voltage can throw all sorts of weird codes in these cars. I'd start by checking the battery's health and the alternator output.
