Ford Edge Terminal 30 Interruption

The battery is original, nearly two years old. I haven't load-tested it myself; I don't own a multimeter. Voltage fluctuations help me understand the problem! Is there an easy way to check the alternator output without special equipment, or is that a job for professionals? Could a faulty alternator cause this intermittent power issue even when the car is off?

Given the original battery and starting difficulties, the battery is likely the problem. Without a multimeter or load tester, assessing the alternator output is hard. Some auto parts stores offer free charging system tests, but I'd advise a workshop. They can do a diagnostic check, including battery health, alternator output, and parasitic draw tests, to pinpoint the source of the 'Terminal 30' interruption. Modern car electrics are complex, so it is best to get it checked out.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the battery was heavily discharged and defective, causing the intermittent power issues. The repair cost was 290€.

Terminal 30' suggests a constant power supply interruption. Before the fuse box, consider the battery's health. Modern vehicles are sensitive to voltage fluctuations. How old is it, and has it been load-tested? 'Poor start' is a classic sign of a discharged or defective battery, straining the starter motor. Also, check the alternator output to ensure it's charging the battery. Do you have a multimeter?
