Ford Endeavour 2013: Problems with engine judder and increased fuel consumption - Possible cause camshaft phasing?
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Ford Endeavour with a gasoline engine is experiencing engine judder, diminished power, uneven running, jerking during acceleration, increased fuel consumption, and strange noises, possibly due to camshaft adjustment issues. The problem may be linked to defective camshaft timing or valve mechanisms, as similar issues were resolved by repairing these components in another Ford model. It is recommended to have the car thoroughly checked at a garage to identify and rectify the exact cause, as unresolved issues could lead to further costs due to high fuel consumption.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My Ford Endeavour has a 3.2L TDCi engine. It's actually the top of the range model with lots of extras. The mileage is 53273 km and the last service was about a month ago. Haven't had any problems so far, this jerking and the high fuel consumption have only occurred recently. Haven't had any problems with the valve mechanics yet either, but I really appreciate your assessment. Best regards!

Hi, With such specific problems it is always difficult to make an accurate diagnosis without actually seeing the car. But I share your suspicion that it could really be the camshaft timing. On my Ford Explorer, it turned out that the camshaft adjustment was also defective in addition to the valve mechanics, causing these symptoms. However, the repair cost extra, but was rectified after replacing the defective parts. I would suggest you have the car checked at a garage. It might be more expensive, but it is safer to rule out all possible causes. In addition, the high fuel consumption will also cost you money in the long run if the problem is not solved. I hope you find a solution soon and that your car runs smoothly again! Good luck and best wishes!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply and the helpful information! Yes, you're right, I really should take my car to the garage and have it checked thoroughly so I can find out the exact cause. It makes sense that the high fuel consumption can also be costly in the long run. I will try to get an appointment as soon as possible! Thanks again for your support! Take care and best wishes!

Hi, So, I have a bit of experience with cars, specifically with my 2011 Ford Explorer, which is also a Ford model and has similar features. I had the same problem and it turned out that the valve mechanism was defective. The repair at the garage cost me 405 euros, but the problem was fixed afterwards. Would you please give me more information about the engine size and model? Is it a small or large engine? Is it a base model or a higher model? This could help me to better narrow down the fault and help you further. Best regards!
