Ford Escape temperature display and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Ford Escape owner experienced issues with the temperature display and check engine light, along with a slow engine warm-up. Initially suspecting a restricted cooling grille, they found no visible blockages. A suggestion to check the fuse box led to the discovery of a defective fuse related to the cooling system. Replacing the fuse resolved the issues.

Thanks for your input. I'm not very familiar with cars. Which fuse should I be looking for specifically? Is it something I can check myself?

I'm not sure which fuse exactly. It's best to have a professional check it. It could be a defective fuse related to the cooling grille, which could cause the problems you described. It's like having a clogged artery; it's best to get it looked at before it gets worse.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right, it was a fuse. Replaced it and all the symptoms are gone. Cost me 52€ Appreciate the help!

I also have a Ford Escape. I had similar symptoms not long ago. Did you check the fuse box? Think of it like a circuit breaker in your house, sometimes they trip.
