Ford Eseries Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a reduction in engine power in a 2008 Ford Eseries diesel, potentially linked to a previous chip tuning modification. The issue is suspected to be caused by improper calibration of the tuning parameters, which may not be suited for the specific engine type. I have the original documentation from the tuning provider, but it's generic and doesn't delve into specific calibration details for my engine. Could you elaborate on the calibration issue you encountered with your Opel Astra? What steps did you take to diagnose and rectify the problem?

The issue with my Astra was that the air-fuel mixture was off, causing the engine to run lean. The repair shop explained that the tuning parameters were too aggressive for my engine's tolerances. Unless you have advanced diagnostic equipment and expertise, I'd recommend taking your Eseries to a reputable mechanic. They'll be able to properly diagnose the issue and ensure the tuning is correctly configured, or revert to the original factory settings.

I will schedule an appointment with a trusted mechanic to evaluate the chip tuning and perform any necessary adjustments or repairs. It appears that the fault was caused by the chip tuning. The total repair cost was 180€.

I had a similar problem with my 2012 Opel Astra after chip tuning. The symptoms were almost identical: reduced power and a persistent error code. In my case, the tuning hadn't been properly calibrated for my specific engine type. Did you get documentation or warranty information from the company that performed the chip tuning?
